ORIGINS OF MAYAZUL

Agave spirits have deep roots in the Maya civilization, dating back to Pre-Columbian times when the Maya fermented and distilled agave nectar to produce alcoholic beverages, evidence shows. This was the first of its kind in all of the Americas.

Today, traditional methods passed down through generations continue to be used in the production of mezcal, preserving the cultural heritage of pre-hispanic Mexico and the Americas.

Mayazul embraces this history and is dedicated to showcasing the rich cultural traditions and arts of the Americas through our artisanal mezcals. Mayazul Mezcal Artesanal is proudly a 100% Mexican owned producer.
